Now Appearing in the Howard Bros. Circus

September 18, 2012 - January 14, 2013

Now Appearing

Strobridge Lithographing Co., 1920
Tibbals Collection, ht2001419

The remarkable lithographs that inspired Howard Tibbals as he created The Howard Bros. Circus Model are featured in Now Appearing in the Howard Bros. Circus in the Poster Gallery of the Circus Museum’s Tibbals Learning Center from September 18, 2012 to January 14, 2013. The historic accuracy of the amazing model came from years of careful study of a variety of documents including photographs, programs and posters. Unlike any show before, the Howard Bros. Circus features the greatest acts of all time, performing for one appearance only!

Exhibits throughout the Circus Museum buildings are indebted to the passionate collectors who have donated to the Museum. From a beautiful collection of lithographs born out of a passion for the performing arts to a set of photographs, letters, and contracts that documented the life of a circus performer, these donations help bring the stories of the circus to life.
