Mattison's Steakhoust at the Plaza Hosts 2006 UnGala UnParty on Longboat Key

SARASOTA, FL  – July 6, 2006 – Chef Paul Mattison announces his commitment to host the 2006 UnGala Gala UnParty.  This year the UnParty is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 8, 2006 at 7 p.m. at Mattison’s Steakhouse at the Plaza on Longboat Key, 525 Bay Isles Parkway.
The UnParty always serves as the pre-party for the highly anticipated UnGala Gala, the largest fundraiser for The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.  It is one of the many UnGala Gala traditions and is the first time any hints are dropped about the year’s top-secret UnGala theme.
The UnGala Gala kicks off Sarasota’s social season.  Guests arrive in black tie or no tie and the theme is always a secret until revealed on the night of the event.
This year the UnGala Gala will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 with tickets selling for $250 per person and benefitting the Museum’s education programs and exhibitions.
UnParty guests will enjoy a fashion show of the latest party gowns from L’Boutique and dancing the night away more than a month before the big UnGala-night. Dim sum will be passed throughout the evening.  There will be a 50/50 Raffle with proceeds benefiting The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.
Mattison’s is the exclusive UnGala Gala food caterer serving appetizers, entrées and desserts for the approximately 1,350 guests selling out the October fundraising event.  According to the 2006 UnGala co-chairs, Mattison’s was the ideal partner to host the UnParty as well.
Sarasota locals Beth Cannata and Chris Romine serve as the energetic UnGala co-chairs leading a committee of nearly 20 local Museum enthusiasts who plan the UnGala Gala.  Together they also coordinate the surrounding events including UnParty and the after party.
Ringling Museum staff members will be on hand to sell the first individual tickets to UnGala during the UnParty
Reservations for the UnParty can be made in advance by calling 941.387.2700.  UnParty tickets are available for purchase online at www.mattisons.com before Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006 or at the door.
