Accessibility

The Ringling is committed to making its venues and grounds accessible to all visitors.

The Terrain

All visitors should be aware and cautious of the many steps, uneven floors and terrain throughout the estate.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome at The Ringling.

Handicapped Parking

Handicapped parking spaces are located on the northern side of the parking area near the Visitor Pavilion. There are several spaces located at the southern end of the parking lot that are optimal for special events when the Museum main gate is open.

Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are available on a first come, first served basis in each of the venues. At the Ca' d’Zan smaller wheel chairs are provided due to the historic nature of the building. Wheelchairs can be accommodated on our ADA-accessible trams. These trams are equipped with a ramp and an enclosed space so visitors may load their wheelchair on to it safely.

Tram Service

Complimentary tram service is available to transport visitors between venues on the estate. Wheelchairs and strollers can only be accommodated on the ADA-accessible trams. These trams are equipped with a ramp and an enclosed space to accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. Walkers can be folded and held with passengers on all trams.

Strollers

Strollers can be used in all buildings but only on the first floor of the Cà d’Zan. Free strollers are available in each venue on a first-come, first-served basis. Strollers can be accommodated on our ADA-accessible trams.

Restrooms

ADA-accessible restrooms are available in or near all venues. The nearest ADA-accessible restroom to the Original Circus Museum is located in the Banyan Café.

Accessibility Attendants

If you need assistance to visit The Ringling, free admission is available for one accessibility attendant. Please inquire at the Admissions counter upon entering or call 941-358-3180 for more information.

Accessibility Tour of the Museum of Art

Group tours for blind, low vision or hearing impaired visitors and their companions are available in the Museum of Art. These interactive tours include engaging verbal descriptions of the works of art on view; reproduction enhancements and tactile diagrams to help visitors “feel” the work of art. During “touch tours,” the visitors examine pre-selected works of sculpture. Our curatorial staff has approved specific objects in the permanent collection for touching. Arrangements for accessibility tours must be completed six weeks prior to your visit. Please call 941-358-3180 to schedule your accessibility tour.
