Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota presents:
KT Sullivan, cabaret singer with Jon Weber, piano
"Colored Lights"…Cabaret at its glorious best – Just listen to what she does to “Barbara Song” from The Threepenny Opera or “Who’s that Woman?” from Sondheim’s Follies. She makes each song a brilliant three-act play before launching into a cataclysmically funny rendition of Noel Coward’s “World Weary” or “Try to Remember” from The Fantastics, “September Song” from Knickerbocker Holiday, and other musical theatre hits. The New Yorker calls KT Sullivan “as vocally, comically and theatrically assured as contemporary cabaret performers get.” She recently appeared at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC with Brian Stokes Mitchell in “Broadway Today” and at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall with Michael Feinstein. She is an annual headliner at the Oak Room of New York’s Algonquin Hotel. She received the “Mabel Award” for Lifetime Achievement from the Mabel Mercer Foundation and Liza Minnelli presented her with the Manhattan Association of Cabaret & Clubs’ Outstanding Female Vocalist Award. In April 2012, KT became the Artistic Director of the Mabel Mercer Foundation.
