Join Lauren Whitley, curator of Textile and Fashion Arts at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, for an introduction to the exhibition Icons of Style: Fashion Makers, Models, and Images, which explores the interconnected roles of designers, wearers, and the media in the creation of iconic style. Starting with the creative genius of the designer, the talk will examine how concepts become garments, and are transformed again on the body by the model. Finally, illustrators and photographers recreate fashion through bravura line, color, and vision, generating some of the most iconic images of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
These engaging programs by noted curators and scholars enhance your understanding and appreciation of the museum’s permanent collection and special exhibitions. Complimentary for Ringling Members at the Supporting Level and above, reservations required. $5 for all other Ringling Members and Florida College students and faculty with valid school I.D. $10 non-members.
