Rediscover your passion for flowers and fine art at this festive opening night. Stroll the Museum’s 21 original galleries and stately loggia and be the first to preview their designs. Designers will be on hand to discuss their floral fantasies and Museum docents will offer insights into the collection. Hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served on the Museum’s elegant loggia.

Museum of Art closed 10am–5pm in preparation for this event.

Be inspired by a leader in floral design and let your own creativity blossom after this energizing presentation by celebrity floral designer Remco van Vliet A series of inspired demonstrations will give you the hands-on knowledge to create your own floral masterpieces; from a classic centerpiece to a contemporary conversation starter. In addition to floral and event design for the Met, Van Vliet & Trap’s client list includes MoMA, the New York Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall, the Whitney Museum with numerous guest appearances on television such as the Martha Stewart Show. Reception Follows in the Welcome Center and Dwarf Garden.

Imagine yourself draped in bright floral prints by none other than Lilly Pulitzer. Graciously set on the Museum’s loggia overlooking the Courtyard garden, this fashionable event features wearable art, fine food, and of course, flowers. You’ll preview the Lilly Pulitzer Spring collection created by their own print designers who designed each print from scratch using flowers as their inspiration.

Participate in a silent auction with very special items including the hand-painted door inspired by Lilly’s own door in Palm Beach from the Sarasota Lilly Pulitzer store, sure to create a bidding frenzy!

Create your own floral masterpiece with a hands-on workshops led by distinguished designer Remco van Vliet. Each workshop will include a brief introduction to flower arranging followed by a one-on-one tutorial that walks you through the design and creation of a specific arrangement. Whether you are a budding beginner or a skilled virtuoso, your arranging expertise will blossom under the direction of this gifted teacher.

$200 per person. Fee includes flowers, container and mechanics. Please bring your own flower clippers. Pre-registration required by February 10, 2012
