The Ringling Underground night series of music and art events opens the 2013/2014 cultural season for younger audiences with three new block-party experiences. Held on the first Thursdays in September, October, and November, from 8:00 to 11:00 PM, The Ringling Underground is a series of unique events hosting young artists, musicians, and creative professionals in nighttime open-air events in the Museum of Art’s signature Courtyard.
Anna E. von Gehr has been appointed as the Senior Director of Development for The Ringling in Sarasota, Florida. Serving under Director, Steven High and Glen Jack, Vice President for Constituent Programs at the Florida State University Foundation, von Gehr will lead The Ringling team’s campaign to enhance the scholarship, practice, and presentation of art and culture.
The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, the State Art Museum of Florida, Florida State University, today unveiled a secondary name: The Ringling, and corresponding graphic identity. This new “umbrella” brand identity platform clearly articulates the museum’s wide offerings to its diverse constituency. The formal name of the museum will remain The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.
