Volunteer Opportunities

As “The Face of The Ringling,” volunteers perform a variety of functions. Below are some of the  areas where volunteers serve. Volunteer opportunities in each of these areas vary throughout the year and vacancies are filled as they become available. We invite you to contact the Volunteer Services Department for current openings.

Docents

Docents are volunteers who engage visitors of all ages in active explorations of the permanent collections and special exhibitions.  Public tours are offered several times a day and private group tours for students, adults, and special needs visitors are scheduled as requested.

Gardens and Grounds Volunteers

Volunteers who enjoy being outdoors year-round and working during early morning hours assist staff in the maintenance of The Ringling's beautiful gardens and grounds.

Historic Asolo Theater Ushers

In addition to greeting patrons, taking tickets and directing people to their seats, ushers provide support in emergencies and set examples of good theater etiquette during matinees and evening performances year-round.

Marketing Department Volunteers

These volunteers are specially trained to aide our Marketing Department by escorting members of the media or representing The Ringling at a variety of public events.

Museum Store Assistants

Store Assistants work alongside staff, restocking and wrapping merchandise and helping visitors select purchases.

Ringling Ambassadors

These volunteers offer our visitors a warm welcome and provide them with general information about tours, special events, and membership.

Special Events Assistants

Volunteers who are already committed to serving The Ringling in other assignments occasionally assist with functions related to the preparation and execution of special events on the estate.

Tram Drivers

Tram Drivers provide free transportation, seven days per week, to visitors on The Ringling grounds.  Must have a valid driver's license and participate in annual safety training.
