Description: |
Huang Ruo will share his work for orchestra, opera, film and multimedia. This potpourri of compositions were written for such well known institutions as the Houston Grand Opera, NYC Ballet, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and orchestras of NYC, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Hong Kong and others. His music draws inspiration from a variety of styles including Chinese folk, Western avant-garde, rock and jazz. Huang Ruo has been cited by the New Yorker as “one of the most intriguing of the new crop of Asian-American composers.”
