New Monday Night Film Series We'll Always Have Paris! at Historic Asolo Theater

Sarasota, FL – Sept. 12, 2008 – Twelve cinematic flights to the eternal city of lights await filmgoers as the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art and the Sarasota Film Festival present We’ll Always Have Paris, the Fall 2008 line-up of Monday Night Movies at the Historic Asolo Theater.  The exploration of Franco-American relations begins on October 6 and continues through December 22 with film screenings at 7p.m. 

“Once again Tom Hall of the Sarasota Film Festival has come up with a selection of films that will entertain, challenge, and delight us,” said Dwight Currie, Curator of Theater Programming for the Historic Asolo.  “Each film is set in Paris – one week in English – the next in French – with subtitles, of course; but it is a great chance to brush-up on your French.”

Gigi by Vincente Minnelli

Weary of Parisian society, a rich playboy and a young girl enjoy a platonic friendship in this movie musical classic.

Lovers on the Bridge by Leos Carax

A love story between two young vagrants: Alex, a would-be circus performer and Michele, a painter driven to a life on the streets.

A British assassin is employed by disgruntled French generals to kill Charles de Gaulle while a dedicated gendarme follows his trail.
