Enjoy the Warmth of the Holidays This Season at the Ringling Estate

Sarasota, FL—Nov. 10, 2008— Guests are invited to embrace the warmth of the season at The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art’s annual holiday celebrations.  The Museum’s annual Holiday Splendor evening kicks off the season’s sights and sounds with a Toy for Tots benefit on Dec. 4. Breakfast With Santa, Dec. 13, will get children and their families into the holiday spirit. Throughout the season, visitors to the Museum will also have the opportunity to experience the Cà d’Zan Mansion adorned in period decorations.

Holiday Splendor, Thursday, Dec. 4, 6-9 p.m.

Guests will have their only opportunity all year to stroll the Estate grounds during evening hours. Guests will enjoy holiday music and performances by more than 300 students from local schools. Performances will take place throughout the evening at the Cà d’Zan Mansion and the Museum of Art Courtyard. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Admission is one unwrapped toy per guest or $10 without a toy.  The toys will benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots event covering Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Breakfast with Santa, Saturday, Dec. 13, 9 a.m.

Children and families are invited to get in the holiday cheer at the Ringling Museum’s third annual Breakfast with Santa.  Guests will enjoy a catered buffet breakfast of Belgian waffles with fresh strawberries and blueberries, cinnamon and raisin French toast layered with pan-seared apples and cream cheese, scrambled egg stuffed empanadas, fruit and coffee and tea.  Santa will then surprise children with a gift during breakfast. 

Guests will drop off one gift for each child in their party during the week of Dec. 8-12. Gifts should be dropped-off at the Visitor’s Pavilion between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and each gift should be valued under $25 and be clearly labeled with the child’s first and last names and age.  Tickets are $20 for adults, $12.50 for children 3-12 years old and children 2 and under are $5. Advance reservations are required and can be made by calling Advance Tickets at 941.358.3180.  High chairs will not be available.
