Join Curator of Performance Elizabeth Doud and Associate Producer of Performance Sonja Shea for an interactive virtual performance preview to discuss the coming attractions for the Art of Performance season ahead. In this informal session, we’ll update our audience on anticipated performances, new and continuing programs and local and international partnerships for the 21-22 season.
Part presentation, part conversation, and part costume-drag-cabaret happy hour, we want you to come ready to learn and talk about performance, show off and have fun!
Here’s how to participate:

2. In the spirit of performance, come dressed in your wildest, most beautiful or surprising hat, glasses, sparkly thing, clown couture and rare finery.
3. Engage with others around inspirational and provocative themes in our season.
4. Have your cameras ON and a drink of your choice in your hand.
Seriously, though: We will be giving exclusive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Art of Performance prizes for the best outfit!
Signature Cocktail: La Chancleta
Cachaca is a Brazilian spirit made from cane juice. It’s similar to a Cuban product called aguardiente that we can’t get here (and not the same as
Columbian aguardiente, which is anise flavored). If you don’t have a cachaca, the next best choice would be a white rum Agricole (sugarcane rum
from the Martinique). And it will be perfectly delicious, but not quite the same, with a regular white rum.
1 slice ginger
1 1/2 oz cachaca* or White Rum (Non-Alcoholic version- use ginger bear or club soda)
3/4 oz honey syrup (see below)
3/4 oz lime juice
Garnish: lime wheel
Directions for Honey Syrup:
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup hot water
If honey is fluid, stir until thoroughly combined. If honey is
crystallized, heat on stove until completely dissolved. Let
cool, and store refrigerated. Yield: 5 oz
Directions for La Chancleta:
Muddle ginger slice in cocktail shaker. Add remaining ingredients to shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish.
