Learn more about what trees have to offer in Central Florida and how we can be more effective stewards of this all-important resource. Trees provide shade, habitat for wildlife, and commodities like fruit and lumber. And as many poets and writers have observed, they add beauty and aesthetic value to any landscape. But their value goes far beyond the obvious. They are a renewable resource that provides energy, erosion protection, and increased real estate value to name just a few of trees hidden assets.
The program will include a talk and discussion in the Education Center followed by a walking tour tailored to the topic. Please wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes.
Presented by Erin E. Alvarez , Commercial Horticulture Agent, UF/IFAS Extension, Sarasota County and Kevin Green, Landscape Superintendent, The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.
