Join St. Petersburg-based artist Carrie Boucher for a hands-on workshop encouraging community, care, and creativity. Carrie Boucher is the founder of NOMAD Art Bus, and her practice centers on serving people in their own communities. Boucher will share her expertise in facilitating community art making and will lead a discussion on how to implement community-based practices with families outside of the art classroom. Following the discussion, Boucher will lead a choice-based art making session, encouraging teachers to tap into their creativity and end the summer on a collaborative, creative note.
Teachers will also receive Museum Admission to The Ringling and are encouraged to visit the exhibition Skyway 2021: A Contemporary Collaboration featuring Carrie Boucher and the NOMAD Art Bus. This workshop is kid-friendly, so feel free to bring your little ones along.
This workshop is presented in partnership with Embracing Our Differences, and complements the 2021 Art Teacher Intensive. All participating teachers will receive 3 hours of continuing education credit, and a complimentary breakfast will be provided.
This program will take place outdoors for maximum safety. Please dress accordingly. Masks are required inside all Ringling buildings.
