As a part of the special installation, VOLUMES, by the artist Ezra Masch each week, a special guest will play in a performance series curated by Masch, including renowned drummers Brian Blade, Antonio Sánchez, Greg Fox, and Taylor “Pocket Queen” Gordon.
Please note: These special performances will not have seating. Attendees are encouraged to walk around or sit on the floor while enjoying the performance. Portable gallery stools will be available if needed.
► Thursday, Aug. 16th @ 7:30 & 8:30 PM, Taylor Gordon AKA The Pocket Queen
Taylor Gordon is an LA-based drummer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who hails from New Orleans, Louisiana. Ms. Gordon attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating with a dual degree in Music and Business. She has performed with numerous artists including Beyoncé, Musiq Soulchild, Robert Glasper, Dwele, Anita Baker, Patrice Rushen, Tim Stewart, and Lil’ John Roberts.
► Thursday, Aug. 23rd @ 7:30 & 8:30 PM, Brian Blade
Brian Blade is a composer/bandleader and drum virtuoso originally from Shreveport, Louisiana. He has toured and performed with some of the world’s greatest living jazz artists, including Wayne Shorter, Chick Corea, and Pat Metheny, as well as with his own group, The Brian Blade Fellowship Band. Blade has recorded and collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Daniel Lanois, Joni Mitchell, Emmylou Harris, Herbie Hancock, and Bob Dylan.

Greg Fox is a multi-instrumentalist, interdisciplinary artist, and teacher born and based in New York City. A versatile and proliﬁc creative, Fox studied percussion with Guy Licata, Thurman Barker, and Marvin “Bugalu” Smith. He has a B.A. in Integrated Arts from Bard College, and has toured, recorded and released numerous records with Liturgy, Guardian Alien, Skeletons, Dan Deacon, Colin Stetson, Ben Frost, and many more.
► Thursday, Sept. 6th @ 7:30 & 8:30 PM, Antonio Sánchez
Antonio Sánchez is a Mexican drummer, composer, and bandleader best known for creating the score to Alejandro González Iñárritu's Academy Award-winning film Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). Sánchez is a five time Grammy Award winner who divides his time between touring and composing original works for television and film. He currently tours with guitarist Pat Metheny, as well as with his own group, Migration.
