How to Attend Ringling International Arts Festival on a Budget

Just because you’re watching your pennies doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy an amazing performance or two at this year’s Ringling International Arts Festival. RIAF 2014 has been designed to allow those on a budget to enjoy performances and save.

The best party of the season is RIAF Opening Night. Keigwin + Co will present Bolero Sarasota- a performance featuring local dancers that highlights what makes Sarasota so unique. The night ends with RIAF’s signature fireworks display over Sarasota Bay.

Admission includes all you can eat and drink with hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine.  Get all of this for only $75 and a discounted price of $60 for Museum Members. Food, a show, fireworks and all you can drink-- tough to beat for that price. The party starts at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15. Don’t miss the Celebration!

If opening night is too rich for your blood, do not worry. RIAF is still the best value for your money , because, let’s face it, you were going to  visit The Ringling at some point anyway. With a ticket to RIAF, you not only get to see the show of your choice but your performance ticket also includes admission to the Museum. This is your chance to see the amazing miniature circus at the Tibbals Learning Center, visit John and Mable Ringling’s ornate Ca’d’Zan mansion or see the Museum of Art.

Some of the exhibitions that will be on  display during RIAF include: contemporary Chinese photography and video in “Seeing the Unseen”, images of outlaw motorcycle clubs in Danny Lyon’s “The Bikeriders” and works by Thomas Chimes from The Ringling’s Permanent collection.

Another perk to getting your RIAF ticket is that it also allows you to join us under the tent each evening as the sun sets on Sarasota Bay for Jazz Sunsets. These lively evening events are free of charge for festival attendees.

College students even get a better deal. Show your student ID for $10 tickets to all performances.

For all that it includes, seeing a show at RIAF is quite a value even if you are on a budget. Hope to see you there no matter how tight your wallet is.
