I’m a regular visitor of the Ringling Museum, and a native of Sarasota. I first experienced The Ringling in the 6th Grade. Back then, as a 12-year-old, I was in awe of the grandeur of its surroundings.
And why not? It has beautiful estates, picture-perfect sceneries, and areas you can explore for days on end. It didn’t take me long to get lost into my own world of circus make-believe and imagination. It wasn’t just a place of rare art. It wasn’t just a place of awe-inspiring history. It was a place that captured my attention, and all these years on, it still has it.
See, to me, the beauty of The Ringling, and its people, is the way in which they have embraced our diverse aspirations. Visitors come in all shapes and sizes, with different interests and philosophies. From the age of 12, and throughout my life, I’ve seen The Ringling evolve to meet these aspirations. Back in 6th Grade, it was a totally different museum.
Then, time after time, they innovated its services. Whether it is through new modern art installations to inspire artists like myself, or via exciting playgrounds to provide some relief for parents on a day out, The Ringling keeps all its visitors interested through its variety of collections, performances, exhibitions, films and more. You can get lost in there for days. I return to learn about an artist, I return to create new memories within its vast surroundings with loved ones, and I return to be captivated by its performances.
The Ringling will innovate its services to provide visitors with the best experiences imaginable. That means, every time you return, you’ll enjoy a different experience than before. The Museum has noticed what we need, who we are and why we’re interested.
There’s also something that really excites me about its future. I’m a regular visitor, but also part of atLarge, the team that shares and helps shape The Ringling’s vision towards service innovation. We’re bringing technology into the mix and are enhancing the experience even further for future visitors. That’s all I’ll say for now, but stay in touch and I guarantee you’ll be wowed.
