“Development of the Book in China”
October 26, 2017 @ 10:30 AM

Join Head of Library Services, Elisa Hansen, and Curator of Asian Art, Rhiannon Paget, at “Conversation: The Development of the Book in China” presented by Dr. Robert Hegel, Professor of Comparative Literature and Chinese at Washington University, St. Louis.
From its earliest forms, written by hand on silk or on bamboo strips, the book has been a prized item throughout Chinese history.  A brief survey of the book in China will be presented in this public lecture.

10:30 AM- Enjoy complimentary tickets to the Conversation. Reservations for tickets are required.
12:00 PM- Following the lecture, Friends of the Library & Friends of Asian Art are invited to a private lunch at Muse with Elisa Hansen, Dr. Robert Hegel and Dr. Rhiannon Paget.  Please note: Friends are responsible for their own lunch cost.

Meet & Greet with Curator Dr. Rhiannon Paget
Monday, November 2 @ 4:00 PM

Join us for this opportunity to meet one of The Ringling new curators. Dr. Rhiannon Paget, Helga Wall-Apelt Associate Curator of Asian Art will share her thoughts about some of her favorite objects in the collections in the Center for Asian Art Galleries. The Reception will begin at 4:00 pm, followed by a tour at 4:30 PM.
