In this family workshop you will hunt for architectural details on the exterior of the Ca’d’Zan, draw your favorites and imagine some original designs of your own. Transform these details into prints through a simple printmaking process, and add some watercolor background.

In conjunction with the exhibition, Behind Closed Doors: Art in the Spanish American Home, 1492-1898, we invite you to this study day that will offer insights into the culture of Spanish Colonial America through an exploration of how material culture was used to construct identity and display status in the New World.
Ever wondered how bronze sculptures are made? We’ll look at some examples around our galleries and grounds, and then try a variation on the process using play-dough molds and plaster of Paris. We can also paint our small sculptures bronze so they’ll shine!
