Schedule of Events

Exhibition opening “Borders” Monda Gallery.
Friday, November 3, 5-7:00 pm.

Approaching the Border will feature video works by five international artists that challenge us to examine our thinking about the US/Mexico border. As a group, these videos meditate on the social phenomena and politics of the border in an era when migration and the reemergence of nationalism are key global issues. Some artists situate their work in the actual space of the borderlands, in either México or the US, and thus bear the different inflections that the politics of the boundary manifest on each side. Other projects meditate on the power of borders as powerful signifiers and means of shaping our perceptions of identity and belonging.

Friends invited to a walk-through of the Exhibition with the curator, followed by a light reception on the Museum of Art Loggia.

Museum of Art,  Keith D and Linda L Monda Gallery for Contemporary Art
Friday, February 9 @ 5:30-7:30 PM

Steven High and The Ringling staff would like to thank you for your continued support over the past year.  Join fellow Circle members along with Friends of Art of Our Time for this sneak peek of our Hank Willis Thomas print collection with Curator Christopher Jones. This exhibition was made possible through the generosity of Bill and Jane Knapp for the acquisition of these prints, and Keith and Linda Monda for the creation of our contemporary gallery.

Unplugged: A Special Feature of Ringling Underground
Thursday, April 5, 6-8:00PM

Friends of Art of Our Time are invited to "Unplugged: a special feature of Ringling Underground", followed by a light reception.

Unplugged: This series of pop-up performances presents guest artists in an intimate and relaxed setting within the museum galleries, where the audience becomes an active participant rather than a spectator by encountering diverse ideas and forms and engaging with artists that bring art alive. The April Unplugged presents AIR (Art Impacting Reality) featuring a fusion of music and art interpreted by spoken word artist Cedric Hameed. This interactive performance aims to connect the audience to the arts by capturing and exploring the diverse themes at play in the world today and exemplifying our connected emotions triggered by the moment of our time. You have to be there to get the full impact!

Generous support for Art of Our Time has been provided by Gulf Coast Community Foundation
