    Photography & Filming

    The Ringling’s 66-acre bayfront estate is a popular location for personal, portrait and commercial photography. Photo shoots are scheduled only by reservation and photographers must have a permit to shoot on The Ringling grounds. Fees are for permits to use the grounds only and do not include the services of a photographer. The Ringling does maintain a list of preferred photographers that will be furnished upon request. Refer to the chart below to determine which type of permit best suits your needs.

    Professional Photography for Personal Use

    1. Personal Photo Shoot – Tuesday-Thursday 10 am  5 pm | $250.00
    a. A professional photographer is being compensated by a client to produce images that are strictly for the personal use of the individual(s) being photographed.
    b. The shoot is for a single person, couple, or a family group of up to 4 people. Additional family members are considered upon request. 
    c. This may be for a family, engagement, high school senior, sweet sixteen, maternity and others. 
    d. There is a two-hour time limit and photography is limited to the grounds. It does not include the interiors of any buildings. 
     
    2. Personal Photo Shoot Friday, Saturday, or Sunday 10 am – 5 pm | $350.00
    a. A professional photographer is being compensated by a client to produce images that are strictly for the personal use of the individual(s) being photographed.
    b. The shoot is for a single person, couple, or a family group of up to 4 people. Additional family members are considered upon request. 
    c. This may be for a family, engagement, high school senior, sweet sixteen, maternity and others. 
    d. There is a two-hour time limit and photography is limited to the grounds. It does not include the interiors of any buildings.
     
    3. Larger Group Shoot – Tuesday-Thursday 10 am – 5pm | $400.00 OR Friday, Saturday, Sunday 10am – 5pm | $500.00
    a. A professional photographer is being compensated by a client to produce images that are strictly for the personal use of the individuals being photographed. 
    b. This shoot is for groups of 5-10 people. 
    c. This shoot is appropriate for wedding parties who are not holding their ceremony at The Ringling. Groups over 10 will be considered on an individual basis and additional fees will apply. 
    d. There is a two-hour time limit and photography is limited to the grounds. It does not include the interiors of any buildings.
     
    4. Premium “Golden Hour” Shoot Tuesday-Sunday, Time to be determined at booking | $600.00 
    a. A professional photographer is being compensated by a client to produce images that are strictly for the personal use of the individuals being photographed.
    b. The shoot is for a single person, couple, or a family group of up to 4 people. Additional family members are considered upon request.
    c. There is a one hour time limit on this shoot. 
    d. Availability is limited and dependent upon time of sunset. 
     
    5. Premium Tower Shoot – $1,000.00  Time to be determined at booking. 
    a. A professional photographer is being compensated by a client to produce images that are strictly for the personal use of the individuals being photographed.
    b. This shoot is for up to four people and is suitable for engagements, wedding couples, proposals or others.
    c. This shoot takes place in the Belvedere Tower of the Ca’d’Zan mansion.
    d. Photos may not be taken anywhere else inside the mansion.
    e. There is a one-hour time limit for this shoot.
    f. Availability is limited. 
     
    Please note: All Personal Photography Shoot rates are for one (1) professional photographer and one (1) assistant. Any others who are not subjects being photographed should not be present at the shoot.

    Professional Photography – Fashion, Bridal, Educational Seminars

    The Ringling considers any photography that utilizes professional models, gives credit to vendors, involves wardrobe changes or conducted to receive compensation in cash or trade from anyone other than the sitter/subject to be professional, non-personal photography and the following options apply:

    1. Hourly Rate  up to 10 people (including crew and models) | $750.00
    a. This shoot allows access to the grounds only. 
    b. Shooting hours are 10 am – 5pm
    c. A minimum of two hours must be booked.
    d. Vehicles and equipment trucks must be parked in designated areas.
    e. Limited availability
     
    2. Full Day Shoots- starting at $2500.00 per day, considered on individual basis.
    a. This shoot is suitable for fashion, location, bridal or those presenting educational workshops to other photographers.
    b. Outdoor locations only.
    c. Requires application, certificate of insurance and proposal/outline
    d. This shoot is fully escorted by Ringling staff
    e. Vehicles, including motorhomes and equipment trucks must be parked in designated areas.

    Movies, Videos, all Non-still Filming

    Souvenir Photography, Video, and Audio Recording Policy for Museum Visitors

    Souvenir photography is defined as photographs and video that are taken for personal use to commemorate a visit.

    If you meet any of the following criteria, you must apply for a photo shoot permit:

    • Have come to the museum for the sole purpose of photography or videography
    • Are using the services of a photographer, professional or amateur, who is not a member of your immediate tour group
    • Are taking photos for a special occasion, greeting card or announcement in which any part of the museum or grounds will be the backdrop
    • Are dressed in special costumes or clothing not typically worn for a museum visit, such as evening wear. 

    Still and video photography is permitted for private, noncommercial use (see list above) outdoors and in the Museum's galleries that are devoted to the permanent collection. Still photography and video is not permitted in special exhibitions. The use of flash is prohibited in all galleries. Tripods and monopods are permitted on the grounds, but are not permitted inside the venues. Photographs cannot be published, sold, reproduced, transferred or commercially distributed. Only visitors who have purchased admission are allowed inside the venues.

    Please note: Individuals who are engaged in a photo shoot without a permit will be asked to leave the property.
